Chairman, Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) Muhammad Faiq Shah has expressed grave concern over deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and elsewhere in the country and demanded to ensure implementation of the National Action Plan with true spirit.
According to a statement issued here on Tuesday, Shah strongly condemned the bomb blast that had been exploded inside Kabal Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) office in Swat, killing more than 15 policemen and left injured nearly 50 including police cops and civilians.
The ATP chairman called for a review of the overall security situation in KP and other parts of the country.
After the deadly Peshawar suicide bombing inside mosque of Police Lines, he said occurrence of such another unfortunate incident is question mark on security and law and order arrangements in the province.
Such terrorism acts often occurred due to security breaches and lapses, he added.
Shah eulogized the sacrifices of police and armed forces for the sake of maintaining peace and stability in the country.
“Our police have been the first line of defence against terrorism,”.
He said the NAP should be enforced with letter and spirit to completely root out the scourge of terrorism.
Commenting on the current political situations, Shah asked members of government and opposition parties to abstain from making controversial remarks prior to the conclusion of the negotiations round.
He said the only solution to the ongoing crisis is to hold elections with mutual consensus of all stakeholders.
Otherwise, he warned delaying elections will have grave implications for the country.
The party leader emphasized that the people should elect a true public representative government through the power of their vote to steer the country out from the prevailing crisis.
Faiq remarked that dynastic politics has pushed back the country for 75 years.
He added people have become frustrated with the current political system and want real change that would serve public interest instead of protecting the interest of any individual.
The ATP chief continued to say that politics of personal interests and individualism had brought destruction everywhere in the country.
Shah said everyone is engaged to show others down and not ready to make joint efforts to pull the country from present quagmire situations.
The party chief urged all political forces to become united and devise a joint mechanism for paving way for holding elections and ending the prolonged political standoff as well as overcoming the economic crisis.
