Politicians condemn killing of school teachers in Kurram

At least seven school teachers killed in a school in Parachinar,capital of Kurram district
PESHAWAR
Leading political figures from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday strongly condemned the brutal killing of seven school teachers in two separate incidents in Upper Kurram tehsil.
According to local police, the first incident took place inside the staff-room of Government High School Tari Mangal area of the aforementioned tehsil. The statement further added that the teachers were performing exam duty when some unidentified gunmen opened fire on them.
Similarly, another incident of the same nature was also reported from the capital of Kurran district where a teacher was killed whilst in a moving vehicle.
In a statement, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) provincial president and State Minister Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha has expressed his deepest condolences and condemned the killing in strong words.
He hoped that the provincial government and police department would leave no stone unturned to arrest the culprit and made them examples of a lesson for others.
Awami National Party (ANP) provincial president Aimal Wali Khan has also condemned the killing of school teachers in separate incidents and demanded quick arrest of those involved in the inhuman act.
Amil Wali Khan has said that targeting teachers inside the school premises was a heartbreaking and sad incident.
The provincial president has condemned the attack on the teachers who were on examination duty in the school in Upper Karam and said that those who attacked the teachers are enemies of knowledge and peace. This heinous act is tantamount to pushing the future of the nation’s children into darkness.
Meanwhile, a statement issued by the office of KP caretaker Chief Minister Mohammad Azam Khan attributed the killings to a property dispute.
The statement said the CM had taken notice of the matter and sought a report on the incidents from police and the relevant administration.
It carried his instructions to take immediate measures for the arrest of those involved in the incidents.
Condemning the attack on school teachers, the Jamat Islami (JI) ameer Sirjul Haq, Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) chief Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao and others senior politicians have expressed grief over the brutal assassination of school teachers in Kurram and demanded arrested of the killers as early as possible.
They have prayed for the elevation of ranks in paradise and sympathized with the bereaved families.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Kohat has postponed the matriculation exams which commenced on April 28.
