CTO orders crackdown on traffic violators in Peshawar

The City Traffic Police Peshawar have accelerated crackdown against vehicle owners with tinted glass windows, fancy number plates and unregistered vehicles.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Qamar Hayat Khan is supervising the efforts himself while special squads have been constituted to check violations of traffic rules in the provincial metropolis, said a handout.
During the drive, traffic police said that a total 4800 fine tickets were issued in different sectors of the city over traffic rules violation. Action was taken against 2000 people for using black glasses ,1980 for driving unregistered vehicles and motorcycles and 820 people were fined for using fancy number plates.
CTO Peshawar has said that all capabilities will be ensured for the enforcement of laws and strict legal action will be taken against those who violate traffic rules.
Qamar Hayat Khan has said that use of tinted glasses and driving of vehicles without number plates is prohibited and urged the citizen to cooperate with traffic police in controlling traffic and discouraging traffic rules violations.
