The representatives of Solidarity International and Handicap International, both are humanitarian organizations, on Tuesday visited the office of Secretary Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Department.
The delegation was led by Miss Kathleen, Country Director of Solidarity International.
The primary focus of the meeting was to identify existing gaps in relief activities at the provincial level and explore ways in which donor organizations can effectively contribute to addressing these gaps.
During the meeting, representatives from both organizations engaged in extensive discussions regarding the ongoing activities and challenges faced by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
They emphasized the paramount importance of mutual cooperation and support as critical factors in effectively addressing the pressing issues faced by the province.
Additionally, they explored strategies aimed at strengthening collaboration and ensuring the efficient implementation of various initiatives.
Abdul Basit highlighted the significance of preparedness and mitigation measures. He emphasized the importance of enhancing early warning systems and other related initiatives to effectively respond to emergencies.
Kathleen shared that their organization will start working in the agricultural, livelihoods and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) sectors in Nowshera.
They are striving to provide improved access to WASH facilities and support. She further stated, “We can target the most vulnerable districts and provide assistance to the public in those areas.”
This meeting served as an invaluable platform for constructive dialogue and the exchange of ideas, fostering a stronger partnership between the government and Solidarity International.
Through this collaboration, they aspire to enhance relief efforts and provide improved assistance to the communities affected in KP.
