Removal of name from ECL case
ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has wrapped up petition filed by Anwar Majeed, close aide of Asif Ali Zardari seeking removal of his name from ECL directing the petitioner to resort to proper forum. A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial took up the case for hearing Tuesday. During the hearing of case the prosecutor told the court fake bank account case has been transferred to banking court. NAB has also directed Anwar Majeed and other respondents of the case to resort to banking court. Munir A Malik counsel for Anwar Majeed took the plea there is medical check up of his client on June 21 abroad. Munir A Malik requested the court to direct banking court to give decision early. CJP directed the counsel for the petitioner let Anwar Majeed resort to banking court. NAB is extending full cooperation to Anwar Majeed and others now. It will be appropriate the respective court be approached for removal of name from ECL and return of passport. Later the court disposed of Anwar Majeed petition regarding return of passport and removal of name from ECL. SC had ordered to place name of Anwar Majeed, chairman Omni group in ECL in fake accounts case. Online
