ATC Judge Sikandar Khan had given time to the PTI chief till July 4 for joining the investigation, warning that the latter would be responsible in case he did not comply with the court order.
The court also extended bail of Asad Umar and Raja Khurram Nawaz.
The prosecutor told the court that Imran had not joined the investigation so far. He suggested that he could join the inquiry right now as the DIG office was adjacent to the court.
Separately, the former prime minister also got bail in another six cases till July 4 by an anti-terrorism court.
The hearing on applications filed by PTI chief seeking bail in cases registered against him in the Karachi Company, Secretariat, Ramna and Tarnol police stations was started in the Judicial Complex, Islamabad.
The cases were heard by Additional Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra.
At the outset of the hearing, the prosecutor told the court that the PTI chief joined the investigation in only one case registered in Ramna police station so far, but he did not join any other investigation.
PTI chief’s lawyer Salman Safdar told the court that due to security reasons, his client could not join the investigation. He said that his client was ready to join the inquiry right now, in this very building. But the prosecutor said that it was not possible as the senior officers should also be available during the investigation.
At this juncture, the judge ordered the investigation officer to present the record of Tarnol police station. But the prosecutor failed to do so.
The judge expressed his annoyance telling off the prosecutor for failing to bring the IO and police record before the court.
