AG presents in SC details of arrested persons

Trial of civilians in military courts
ISLAMABAD
Attorney General (AG) has filed details of arrested accused in Supreme Court (SC) in the matter of trial of civilians in military courts.
According the report, 3050 persons were identified to have been found involved in May 9 incidents.
Arrest warrants of 2258 persons were issued among them under MPO. 1888 persons are arrested in 51 cases under terrorism clauses. 4119 persons are arrested in 247 cases under other clauses.
86 accused have been handed over to police on physical remand while 2464 persons have been sent on judicial remand.
As many as 81 women who were involved in May 9 incidents have also been arrested. 42 women among them were granted bail by the courts. 39 women are in jail on judicial remand.
It is pertinent to mention here the report presented by Attorney does not include the details of accused, lawyers and journalists who are under the custody of army and the arrested children.
