PESHAWAR
The Senate of the Hazara University on Tuesday approved a budget of Rs4283 million for the university for financial year 2023-24.
The Senate meeting was chaired by caretaker provincial minister for higher education Justice (Rtd) Irshad Qaiser at the Governor House, said a press release.
The statement said that the approval was accorded in the 18th meeting of the Hazara University which was attended by senior officials of the university.
The officials of the university informed the forum that Rs800 million for development projects while 56 percent was the own income of the university.
They furthered that to achieve self-reliance an endowment fund system has been created to keep the university financially sound.
The university administration has enhanced the efficiency through Central Management Service to centralize the fee system in the university, the statement said and added that a 300KW solar system has also been installed to reduce electricity costs of Hazara university.
University officials told the Senate that the financial deficit of the university has been increased due to pension liabilities, high inflation rate.
