ISLAMABAD: The list of prisoners has been exchanged between Pakistan and India. According to Foreign Office Spokesman, Pakistan has handed over the list of Indian prisoners to Indian High Commission in Islamabad. According to list, the overall 308 prisoners including 42 Civilian prisoners and 266 fishermen are present in Pakistan. The Indian government simultaneously has shared a list of Pakistani prisoners to Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi. According to list, 417 prisoners are present in Indian jails. According to Foreign Office Spokesperson, among 417 prisoners 343 civilians and 74 fishermen are present in Indian jails. Pakistan has urged India to release the prisoners who have completed their sentences Pakistan and India exchange lists of prisoners in each other’s custody on January 1 and July 1 every year. This exchange takes place under the Consular Access Agreement which was signed on May 21, 2008. Online
