Information minister says CPEC projects were delayed in previous govt
PESHAWAR
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa caretaker Minister for Information, Auqaf, Hajj, Religious and Minority Affairs Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel has said that Pakistan-China friendship has met every test and the friendship between the two countries is eternal.
He said that the first glimpse of a game changer project like China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was seen in the Silk Route.
There are six major projects in KP under CPEC and alleged the previous government for creating hurdles in the way of CPEC projects.
The caretaker information minister expressed these views while addressing the global seminar organized on the completion of 10 years of CPEC and Belt Road Initiative.
In the international seminar held at a local hotel in Peshawar, delegates from China, investors and officials of companies working on CPEC, students, social and business personalities and people from different walks of life participated.
The speakers highlighted the importance of CPEC and the Belt Road Initiative (BRI) and termed it indispensable for the economic and social development of Pakistan.
Speaking at the first session of the global seminar on CPEC and BRI project, Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel said that Pakistan-China friendship is everlasting, which has met every test and will become deeper and stronger in the future.
He said that the first glimpse of CPEC was seen in the Silk Route. Under the game changer project like CPEC, 6 major projects have been set up in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which are providing employment to the youth of the province.
The caretaker provincial minister said that the projects under CPEC were delayed in the previous regime. Now as a whole we have to play our part in removing delays and bottlenecks in CPEC projects.
He emphasized that national development projects should not be influenced by political issues. Leaders are the reflection of their nation. “. he added”
The caretaker provincial minister said that ten years ago there was no policy for overseas Pakistanis. He worked day and night as a federal minister along with other officials to formulate a policy which is still in force today.
He furthered that, at this time, the country needs to be taken forward with sincerity. Our culture and traditions have been destroyed in the last few years.
Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel emphasized on the best training of the young generation and said that our youth have to be provided with the best environment from school to university so that we can achieve sustainable development.
