Border security officials and the district administration, Khyber permitted relatives of the Kurram fight injured to bring them through Torkham Border, Pak-Afghan highway (Khyber Pass) to shift them to hospitals in Peshawar and down towns for treatment.
It is worth mentioning here that the clashes over land started on 07 July, 2023 between inhabitants of Dandar Sehra and Boshehra, district Kurram and so far 11 persons have been killed and more than 70 sustained injuries.
Administrative official informed that a representative 16 members Jirga of Kurram elders led by Tribal elite Munawar hold a meeting with the Assistant Commissioner, Landi Kotal and the forces officials last night sought their permission to shift wounded of the Kurram brawl to Peshawar health centers via Torkham crossing.
Keeping the unfavorable situation prevailing in Kurram, the civil and forces officials allowed them that a patient with one attendant could cross-in the border.
The Jirga members also said that the fighting had created fear in the area as well as a shortage of essential goods, including edibles, due to road blockades therefore the residents were willing to migrate but the officials said their demand would be conveyed to the high up for consideration, sources said.
Mr. Munawar said that their area was besieged and a life threat to the residents therefore the officials should allow them to shift their families safely after identification via Torkham Border, the lonely safe route to take refuge in Peshawar and other parts of the country.
Kurram is connected with three provinces of Afghanistan namely Khost, Paktia and Nangarhar.
To end the bloody conflict, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa requested the Federal government to deploy additional paramilitary troops in the area.
