At least 63 women were arrested from eight different cities of Punjab during two months after the May 9 violence and 22 of them were sent on judicial remand on completion of interrogation. According to the report, submitted by Punjab police to the chief minister, most of the women, 47, were arrested from Lahore. 22 women were sent on judicial remand on completion of interrogation. It is to be noted here that many men and women workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were arrested for attacking military installations in different areas of the country on May 9, 2023.
