Bitcoin surges to $30,294 as cryptos turn positive

ISLAMABAD: The cryptocurrency market turned positive on Thursday, with the market cap gaining 1.3 percent to reach $1.26 trillion. As of 1120 hours GMT, Bitcoin, the world’s oldest and most valued cryptocurrency, breached the $30,000 mark once again to reach $30,294 with an increase of 1 percent in the last 24 hours. The market capitalisation of the biggest crypto has reached $589 billion with this increase. Bitcoin has been 1 percent down in the past seven days. Bitcoin dipped below the $30,000 mark early Thursday. Over the past 24 hours, Bitcoin has been fluctuating between the levels of $29,900 and $30,300. In recent days, BTC has shown a minor slowdown, possibly influenced by investors’ growing attraction to altcoins like Ripple, Cardano, and Solana. TLTP
These altcoins have demonstrated remarkable growth rates of 78 percent, 15 percent, and 23 percent, respectively, over the past week. Both bullish and bearish forces are actively participating in the market.
Ether (ETH), the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalisation, has successfully maintained its position above the $1,900 level. ETH gained 0.6 percent to reach $1,920. With this increase in price, the market capitalisation of ETH has reached $231 billion. ETH has been 1.9 percent up in the past seven days.
Ripple (XRP) has outperformed BTC by maintaining a four-day winning streak, recording a gain of 3 percent in the past 24 hours and an impressive 72 percent increase in the past week. XRP price increased by 3 percent to reach $0.813. The market capitalisation of XRP stands at $42.8 billion with this increase. XRP has gained 71.9 percent of its value during the last seven days.
Binance Coin (BNB) price surged 1 percent to reach $244. The market capitalisation of BNB has reached $38 billion with this increase. BNB has shed 1 percent of its value during the last seven days.
Cardano (ADA) price surged 3.4 percent to reach $0.326. Its market capitalisation has reached $11.4 billion with this increase. ADA has gained 13.1 percent of its value in the past seven days.
Other popular altcoins including Dogecoin (DOGE), Litecoin (LTC) and Solana (SOL) saw a mix of minor gains and dips across the board. The Stellar (XLM) token remained the top gainer for the second day in a row, with a 24-hour jump of nearly 24 percent. 1INCH, on the other hand, emerged to be the biggest loser for the second consecutive day as well, with a 24-hour loss of nearly 8 percent.
