PESHAWAR: SSP Operations Peshawar Haroon Rashid Khan on Wednesday inspected the routes of mourning processions and visited various Imambargahs to ensure Muharram security measures. While speaking to media, SSP Operations said that a foolproof security mechanism has been devised for peaceful Muharram in Peshawar. 1,500 police officers have been deployed throughout the district for strict monitoring of internal and external routes for Muharram, he said and added that all entrances to the inner city have been sealed off with barbed wire, barricades and barricades “All routes of mourning processions are being swept repeatedly by BDU and sniffer dogs,” he said. He said that additional forces have been deployed at the front and rear of the mourning procession, police personnel in white uniforms are also on duty to make the security more full-proof.
