Chairman, Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) Muhammad Faiq Shah called for collective efforts to steer the country out of the crisis situation.
He said the country’s political situation has now become grim and quite intricate.
The party leader said democratic norms, culture and politics have been ruined for the sake of power and political survival.
He observed Pakistan is currently confronted with incalculable challenges at internal and external fronts.
“we should collectively fight hunger, poverty, illiteracy, population explosion, climate change and disease,” Shah says while responding to various queries of the general public through an online “Kuli Kachheri” [Open Forum] here on Wednesday.
He further said that the incumbent rulers have put the country at stake to just stay in power.
He questioned: “Who will put a bell around the cat’s neck”?
Faiq expressed grave concern over sky-rocketing price-hike in the country.
Regarding the quagmire economic conditions, the party’s chief said economic slowdown and depreciation of Pak rupee against dollar persisted despite striking a deal with the IMF.
He stressed pragmatic steps should be taken to enhance the country’s exports, trade and investment by formation of a policy board at the national level.
He emphasized that it is a dire need of hour to form a joint board, which should consist of impartial people.
He said his party has already proposed a board, and its final draft was provided to government, relevant authorities and stakeholders.
He was of the view that concrete decisions would be made under the proposed board which would be beneficial for the country’s economic growth and progress.
He maintained no one is concerned with miseries of people and the country.
Shah said politics-based on personality and personal interest has paralyzed the whole system while people and economy had adversely affected.
He vowed his party will continue to raise up for public rights, authority and powers at every forum.
