The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Wednesday issued a notice to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on the bail plea of former Member of National Assembly (MNA) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Muhammad Khan.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Ejaz Anwar and Justice Fazal Subhan while hearing the case directed the provincial government to submit its reply on the bail plea of Mr Khan and adjourned the hearing till tomorrow.
Advocate Ali Zaman, the counsel of Ali Muhammad Khan, told the court that Khan was rearrested in another case after 76 days of bail.
He said that the government has admitted that there was a single case against former PTI MNA but he was rearrested in a new case.
On Tuesday, a local court granted bail to PTI leader Ali Muhammad Khan in a corruption case, however, the local police arrested him again under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).
It is pertinent to mention here that the PIT leader was charged with corruption in the first information report (FIR) registered at the anti-corruption police station.
Earlier a day, the court ordered the accused to furnish the bail bonds of Rs2 lakh with two personal sureties. However, the deputy commissioner Mardan issued his arrest order under Section 3 of the MPO and the local police arrested him.
PTI leader Ali Muhammad Khan who is considered one of close aides of deposed Prime Minister Imran Khan has been arrested for the seventh consecutive time after being released after the May 9-10 incidents.
