Rupee gains over 1pc against dollar in open market

KARACHI: Pakistani rupee made minor gains against the US dollar last week, rising by 0.13 percent in the interbank market and 1.02 percent in open market, while its rate remained unchanged in the black market/ Hundi. According to the figures shared by the State Bank of Pakistan, the rupee opened at 286.81 in the interbank market on Monday last and closed at 286.45 on Friday last, inching up by Rs0.36 (+0.13 percent) against the greenback. Similar was the case in the open market, as the local unit opened in the range of 291-294 against the dollar on Monday and closed the week at 288-291, appreciating by Rs3 (+1.02 percent). However, the dollar was quoted at Rs310 in the black market/Hundi on Monday last and same was the rate at the end of the week without any change. TLTP
