ANP announces election manifesto, vows comprehensive youth program

The manifesto hints at 3000 e-commerce zone at VC levels across the province

The Awami National Party (ANP) on Saturday released its party vision documents or poll manifesto for the general elections. The manifesto was released by the provincial president of ANP Aimal Wali Khan in the presence of party ‘senior leaders at Bacha Khan Markaz.
Among the election promises include a comprehensive youth program, free and quality education at all public sector universities and monthly stipend for female universities students.
“Rs5000 stipend will be given to female students of government-run universities,” it said. The manifesto included research grants up to Rs1.5 million for teachers pursuing their PhD research.
The party pledged that a protection card system would be introduced and Rs 35,000 per year will be given to each youth of the province.
The party manifesto said that ANP will provide employment to three million youth of the province and launch a business loans program for the educated.
A laptop scheme, independent testing authority, and transparent induction for government jobs were part of the manifesto of the party. The manifesto also hints at a comprehensive digital programs and establishment of 3000 e-commerce zones at village council levels across the province. The party promised to establish a public sector university in each district of the province to promote higher education.
In education, the manifesto pledges to establish 50 degree colleges, 25 higher secondary and 45 high schools in five years of term, adding that half of them would be for female students. The party manifesto promised to teach students three more languages at schools.
Access to basic health facilities will be made possible for all citizens irrespective of income and social status and the primary health care system will be prioritized and strengthened.
A sustainable and comprehensive public health insurance system will be launched that will cover the facilities of treatment and other medical services.
It also pledges the solarization of 3000 schools, 100 BHUs, 50 tehsil headquarters hospitals, 5000 mosques and 500 km of street lights will be switched to solar energy.
The manifesto also promises to end child marriage, gender-based violence, including swara, gagh and other abhor practices in the province.
The ANP’s other promises include end of violence against transgender and to protect their fundamental rights.
Economic development potentials in tourism, minerals, cottage industries, agriculture and agricultural products, poultry and dairy farms, fruit and vegetable processing sectors will be identified and steps will be taken to promote them as per demand of holistic markets.

The election manifesto of the ANP said that 16 trade corridors that connect Pakistan with Afghanistan will be opened on permanent biases to promote business activities between the two countries.
