Afghanistan team announced for the series against Pakistan

Afghanistan has announced the 18-member squad for the 3-match ODI series to be played in Pakistan’s Sri Lanka. The team was announced by the Afghan board on Twitter, in which Hashmatullah Shahidi was appointed as the captain. While among the other players, Rahmanullah Garbaz, Ikram Ali Khel, Ibrahim Zadran, Riaz Hasan, Rahmat Shah, Najeebullah Zadran, Muhammad Nabi, Azmatullah Umarzai, Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmed, Mujibur Rehman, Fazal Haq Farooqui, Abdul Rahman, Muhammad Saleem Safi and Wafadar Momand. Spinner Noor Ahmed has returned to Afghanistan’s ODI squad while left-arm spinner Zia-ur-Rehman Akbar, who recently made his ODI debut against Bangladesh, was left out of the squad.
ACB Chief Selector Asadullah Khan said that our full focus is to prepare the team for the two major events of Asia Cup and World Cup 2023, the three-match ODI series against Pakistan is the best time for preparation for the team. Fareed Ahmed Malik and Shahidullah Kamal have been kept in the squad for reserve players.
