Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah emphasized that a neutral caretaker government should be formed to ensure fair and transparent polls.
Chairing a meeting of the party’s central executive committee here on Monday, Shah said the name for caretaker prime minister’s position should be finalized with due consensus of all political parties and stakeholders.
He stressed it is imperative to form an impartial interim set up to not raise questions on impartiality of the general elections.
If the interim government would manage to resolve the public’s issues so there will be no issue to extend its tenure, he added.
“The sole purpose of the caretaker government would be maintaining law and order and assisting the election commission to hold free and fair elections,” according to political experts and think tankers.
It is noted here that the five-year tenure of Pakistan’s National Assembly, the lower house of the parliament, will expire on August 12 next.
Instead of following its commitments, the party chief said the outgoing coalition government has not spared any moment and day to add to the miseries of the poor masses.
Faiq stressed that the caretaker government must focus on the growing tension and problems of the inflation-stricken people.
He said hegemonic and totalitarian regimes and a cruel system have usurped rights of the poor segment of the society.
The country stands in the same position where it was after 75 years ago, shah remarks while few days are away to celebrate Pakistan its 76th Independence Day.
He said the dream to make Pakistan a real Islamic Welfare State can come only true when people will get due rights, powers, justice and facilities.
“We will build Pakistan which was dreamt by the father of the nation, Quaid E Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and thinker of the country, Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal”,
He said his party is carrying out a vigorous campaign to provide justice, powers and authorities to people at their doorstep.
“Our political and awareness struggle to ensure public authority and powers will be sustained till gaining objectives,”
