13 labourers die as blast hits their vehicle in Waziristan

At least 13 labourers were killed and two others were injured in a bomb blast on a vehicle in Shawal tehsil of North Waziristan district. According to the deputy commissioner, the blast was carried out on a civilian vehicle near Gul Mirkot.
There were 16 labourers in the vehicle when the bomb blast took place. 13 of them died, two were injured and three went missing. The injured and the bodies of the deceased were shifted to a nearby hospital, Deputy Commissioner Rehan Gul Khattak said.
The hospital administration said the deceased were identified as Mubitullah, Sahab Noor, Jannatullah, Asadullah Khan, Mir Wali Khan, Maqbool Khan, Sher Zahid, Syed Manwar, Mohaid Ayaz, Muhammad Wali, and Gul Hussain while the injured were identified as Umar Zahid and Umar Ayaz.
Sources said the deceased belonged to South Waziristan, whose bodies had been shifted to their native towns. Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar Haq and caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the bomb blast and expressed regret over the loss of precious lives.
“Heartbreaking to know about the terrorist attack in North Waziristan which claimed the lives of 11 innocent laborers. Strongly condemn this senseless act of violence and stand in solidarity with the families affected,” PM Kakar said in X post.
