Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan called on Pakistani-American youth and professionals to support Pakistan’s youth development efforts during an engagement session held at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Chicago.
The event brought together members of the Pakistani-American youth, community leaders, academics and representatives of professional networks to discuss avenues for collaboration in education, skills development, innovation, entrepreneurship and investment, said a press release received here.
According to the press release, Rana Mashhood met Consul General of Pakistan in Chicago Zaman Mehdi before the session and discussed ways to strengthen engagement with the Pakistani diaspora, particularly in areas related to youth empowerment and economic development.
Addressing the gathering, the PMYP chairman outlined the government’s vision for youth empowerment through the programme’s four pillars: education, employment and entrepreneurship, engagement, and environment.
He highlighted key initiatives, including the Digital Youth Hub, skills development programmes, business and agriculture financing schemes, scholarships, sports development projects and leadership opportunities.
He encouraged members of the Pakistani-American community to partner with PMYP to help expand opportunities for young Pakistanis and strengthen links between Pakistan and its overseas talent.
Consul General Zaman Mehdi described Pakistan’s youth as the country’s greatest asset and stressed the role of overseas Pakistani youth in promoting educational and professional linkages while contributing knowledge, innovation and investment to national development.
A presentation by PMYP officials highlighted ongoing programmes and explored potential partnerships with universities, industry leaders and community organisations to enhance skills development and create international career pathways for Pakistani youth.
The session concluded with a question and answer segment focusing on strengthening collaboration between Pakistan’s youth and the global diaspora. Community representatives later presented souvenirs to Rana Mashhood in recognition of his visit and commitment to youth empowerment.
