City Traffic Police has taken actions against 6555 motorcyclists for not using helmets, while 1600 motorcycles were inspected for not having helmets and registration of motorcycles.
Under the direction of IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Akhtar Hayat Khan and under the supervision of Chief Traffic Officer Qamar Hayat Khan, City Traffic Police Peshawar blockaded different sectors of Peshawar during which legal actions were taken against 6555 people for not using helmets while helmets were not used.
Chief Traffic Officer Qamar Hayat Khan has said in a press release issued from Traffic Headquarters Gulbahar that the City Traffic Police Peshawar will continue its actions against motorcyclists who do not use helmets without discrimination, while there will be no leniency in this regard.
He further said that action has been initiated against those who do not register motorcycles by City Traffic Police Peshawar so that citizens can register their motorcycles in time.
CTO added that it is very important to use a helmet while traveling on a motorcycle because it can prevent loss of life in the event of an accident. He directed the traffic authorities to speed up the operations on daily basis and no concession should be made in this regard.
