MARDAN
By-election of local government will be held today on various vacant seats in different neighborhood and village councils in Mardan district. Election commission has completed preparation for the by-election.
It may be noted that in 9 village councils, 26 candidates, including two women, are contesting election on 10 vacant seats, 6 candidates are contesting elections on two general seats and there will be a one-to-one contest for the woman’s seat, while twelve candidates are contesting on five youth seats.
Top contest is expected between ANP candidate Shabir Ahmed Raza, PTI candidate Muhammad Zeeshan and independent candidate Ahmed Ali on NC Bukit Ganj-1. Top contest is expected between PML-N candidate Abbas Khan,JUI-F candidate Mukhtiar Ali and PTI candidate Rahim Shah in the general seat in VC Ahmedabad Takhatbhai.
Top contest is expected between independent candidate Muhammad Alamgir Khan and JUI-F candidate Adil Zaman on the youth seat of VC Taja Rustam. Top contest is expected between independent candidate Dawar Khan, PTI candidate Muhammad Asram and JI candidate Zubier Ahmed in VC Mayar-4.
Top contest is expected between PTI candidate Abdul Samad and ANP candidate Muhammad Shoaib on youth seat NC Hoti-1.Top contest is expected between PTI candidate Azmat Ali, JUI-F candidate Muhammad Yasar Ali and ANP candidate Numan Khan on youth seat Mardan rural-1, top contest is expected between JUI-F candidate Muhammad Naeem and PTI candidate Tamur Shah on youth seat VC Mahu Dhari.
Top contest is expected between independent Muhammad Sajjad Khan, independent candidate Nisar Iqbal and JUI-F candidate Dawood Amin on VC Charguli Rustam. Top contest is expected between ANP candidate Imran Ali, PTI candidate Raj Wali Khan and independent candidate Muhammad Anwar on VC Khawo killi while top contest is expected between ANP female candidate Shesh Begum and JUI-F candidate Sidar on women seat Mardan rural-1.
The election commission has established 40 polling stations including 17 male, 15 female and 8 combined. There will be a total of 120 polling booths in these polling stations, including 69 male and 51 female polling booths. All the polling stations were declared highly sensitive. More than 320 election staff will perform duty during the polling.
