Islamabad Capital Police apprehended 23 outlaws from different areas of the city and recovered drugs and weapons with ammunition from their possession, a public relations officer said.
He said that, following the special directions of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad Capital Police have intensified crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city.
Following these directives, the Karachi Company police team arrested two accused namely Aftab Hussain and Naveed Masih involved in drug peddling and recovered 560 gram heroin and 10 bottles of wine from their possession. The Golra police team arrested an accused namely Adnan Haidar and recovered 503 gram heroin from his possession. The Tarnol police team arrested two accused namely Naveed Khan and Basheer and recovered 310 gram heroin and 650 gram hashish from their possession.
Likewise, the Sangjani police team arrested an accused namely Tayyab and recovered 610 gram heroin from his possession. Sumbal police team arrested an accused namely Mazhar and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession. Khanna Police team arrested three accused namely AttahUllah, Anas and Iftikhar and recovered three 30 bore pistols with ammunition and 60 liters of alcohol from their possession.
Similarly, the Koral police team arrested an accused namely Arslan and recovered one 9 mm pistol with ammunition from his possession. Humak police team arrested an accused namely Nadeem Khan and recovered one 9mm pistol with ammunition from his possession, while police team also arrested the accused namely Abrar involved in illegally selling petrol and refilling gas cylinders. The LohiBher police team arrested two accused namely Bilal and Tahir Naveed and recovered 166 gram heroin and one iron punch from their possession. BharaKahu police team arrested two accused namely Zeeshan and Hamad Ali and recovered 20 liters of alcohol from their possession.
Moreover, the Nilor police team arrested ShahbanIshaq and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession. The Shahzad Town police team arrested an accused namely Tanveer Ahmed and Naseer Akhtar and recovered 5,410 gram heroin from their possession. The Banigala police team arrested an accused namely Farhan and recovered one MP-5 rifle and one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession.
During a crackdown against absconders police teams arrested two absconders from various areas of the city. Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is under way.
ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan directed all senior officials for an effective crackdown against the accused involved in drug peddling and possessing illegal weapons. He further said that the safety of the lives and property of the citizens is our prime responsibility and the performance of police officials in this regard would be reviewed on a continuous basis.
