Police claimed to have arrested the killers of a six-year-old girl who was murdered in the vicinity of Khazana Police Station three days ago, said police.
Police told reporters that after a comprehensive investigation on scientific lines two alleged killers have been apprehended within three days.
It is pertinent to mention that police had found the body of a six-year-old girl in the limits of Khazana Police Station.
Following the incident, CCPO Peshawar Syed Ashfaq Anwar formed a team under the supervision of SSP Operations Kashif Aftab Abbasi and SSP Investigation Ashfaq Khan, SP Rural Division Zafar Ahmed Khan, SP Investigation Shakeel Khan, and DSP Rural Amjad Khan, DSP Rural Investigation Tawheed Khan.
The team during the investigation conducted geo-fencing, profiling, interrogating several persons and finally apprehended the prime suspects.
The killers have been identified as Kamran and Amanullah, who turned out to be the close relatives of the slain girl.
DNA samples have been obtained from the accused and the deceased girl and sent for cross-matchingPolice said that during the preliminary investigation, the arrested persons have confessed to the crime and said that the slain girl was killed after sexual assault.
SP Rural Division Zafar Ahmed Khan told reporters that both the arrested suspects have confessed their crime during the initial investigation.
