Wife of Italian ambassador inaugurates centre for empowering skilled artisans, women entrepreneurs

A trailblazer in the world of fashion and women empowerment, Fashion Bee, hosted a guided tour of its industry and launched the Artisan Centre for empowering the skilled artisans and professionals. The event was held at the Centre for Excellence & Advanced Studies (CAS).
Chief Guest on the occasion, wife of the Ambassador of Italy, Mrs. Albana Planeja formally cut the ribbon to inaugurate the centre.
While appreciating the Fashion Bee’s initiative and the joint efforts of the CAS and the Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI) Albana Planeja hoped the centre would serve to achieve the goal of artisans’ empowerment and open new possibilities for education exchange programmes.
“We are one big family,” she reaffirmed. Let’s utilize the resources available to strengthen ties and promote entrepreneurship, she called upon the audience.
The event was attended by a large number of businesswomen, women entrepreneurs, art and fashion lovers, youths, artisans and the locals.
Rizwana Asif President IWCCI and Mrs Naima Ansari, former President IWCCI were the guests of honour on the occasion. The event commenced with a warm welcome note by Chairman of the CAS Junaid Elahi who shared how Fashion Bee was seamlessly fusing tradition with innovation, paving the way for international market expansion. The brand’s visionary plans for digitalization and its unwavering commitment to supporting both students and artisans were also highlighted during the event.
Elahi underscored the transformative potential of collaboration and networking in empowering both youth and women, paving the way for a brighter future, particularly in the age of social networking “Networking is key to our success,” the Chairman stated. His remarks spotlighted the pivotal role that IWCCI plays in championing women entrepreneurs and providing support to women engaged in small businesses
Mrs Asif, President IWCCI commended the initiative for empowering women-led businesses. She highlighted IWCCI’s role in providing platforms, identifying opportunities, offering financial support, and guiding women towards product development. The President stressed that IWCCI is not just about identifying challenges; it’s about providing solutions.
Mrs Naima Ansari said, “We must create linkages with international markets to open doors for our value- added products,” she said adding, “together, we can overcome the challenges and create more opportunities.”
