Mayor Peshawar announces grant for PPC beatification

Mayor of the Peshawar Capital Metropolitan Government Haji Zubair Ali on Thursday said that Peshawar Press Club (PPC) played a historic role in the political and democratic evolution of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Speaking at Meet the Press Program, Haji Zubair Ali said that PPC is a role model for the other press clubs of the province where all political parties and foreign delegations visited.
He also announced a grant of Rs 0.5 million for the beautification of PPC and sports equipment for the recreational activities of the journalists.
President Malik Arshad Aziz, General Secretary Irfan Musazai and Giant Secretary Tayyab Usman Awan welcomed him on his arrival at Peshawar PPC.
He said that the largest assembly of Pakistan after the National and Punjab Assembly is the Assembly of Capital Metropolitan Peshawar which has 194 members.
He said that the previous and incumbent governments have made several attempts to derail the local government system and clip its power.
Today, local body representatives across the province protested for the provision of funds , adding that local government institutions should be made more powerful to ensure the availability of public service delivery efficiently.
Haji Zubair Ali maintained that all resources would be utilized to provide maximum facilities to those working in the local government institutions of Peshawar.
In government schools, prizes have been kept for matriculation and FA students and laptops will provide for the public sector teachers to modernize the teaching system at schools, he said.
