Crackdown against electricity theft continue in KP

PESHAWAR, Sept 22 : Crackdown against electricity theft continues across the province on behalf of PESCO, said PESCO Spokesperson.

So far, more than 4527 kandas have been removed across the province, the Spokesperson PESCO said. A total of 1074 in Peshawar circle, 861 in Mardan circle and illegal connections have been disconnected while in the Khyber Circle 613, Swat Circle 446 and Bannu Circle 427 were removed, the Spokesperson added.

Apart from this, several turnstiles were also removed in Abbottabad, Swabi, Mansehra and Dera Ismail Khan Circle and fines of more than Rs. 1.981 million have been imposed so far, the PESCO spokesperson said.

Application submitted to file a case against more than 3982 electricity thieves and more than 1694 cases were filed against electricity thieves, 340 people were arrested, spokesperson said. PESCO customers can report electricity theft by calling 118, the Spokesperson said.
