As many as 56481 children would be administered Polio drops during the forthcoming National Polio Campaign starting from October 2 for which all arrangements have been made well in time.
This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Chitral Muhammad Ali Khan to media men soon after chairing a high level meeting regarding the preparation for the forthcoming Polio Campaign in District Chitral. Officials of the District Polio Eradication Committee (DPEC), Assistant Commissioner Chitral Dr. Mohammad Atif Jalib, Coordinator EPI Dr. Farman Nazar, Dr. Salim Saifullah Khan, MS Dr. Shahzad Haider Mulk, GMA. K.H. SP Merajuddin, SDPO Chitral City Ahmed Isa and representatives of related institutions participated.
Dr. Farman Nazar gave a detailed briefing on the preparations for the Polio campaign during the meeting, he said. He said 369 teams have been formed to administer polio drops to 56481 children under the age of five.
The Deputy Commissioner said that eradication of polio is the national duty of all of us, so all the relevant institutions have to play their part to make this campaign successful. He directed the concerned institutions to provide full proof security to the polio teams. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner and MS formally launched the campaign to protect children from polio.
