The City Traffic Police on Tuesday organized an awareness session for the students of Government High School Nankpura for improving road safety.
The session was held on the instructions of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Qamar Hayat Khan, said a statement.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Education Shazia Shahid briefed the students on the traffic laws, including road safety measures, zebra cross, use and benefits of seat belt and helmet, along with the principles and precautions of driving.
Students and others participated in large numbers in the awareness seminar. During the seminar, SP Education Shazia Shahid said that traffic accidents and casualties can be avoided by using seat belts and helmets.
She said that the city traffic police visits different institutions at different times and informs students about traffic rules so that traffic accidents can be reduced and the lives of citizens can be secured.
At the end of the seminar, SP Education Shazia Shahid gave practical training to the students regarding road crossing and later asked them questions related to traffic rules.
The School Principal appreciated the initiatives of City Traffic Police Peshawar and urged SP Education Shazia Shahid to conduct such awareness seminars at different times and assured all kind of cooperation with City Traffic Police Peshawar.
