Edward College student murder accused shot dead in police operation

Police on Saturday claimed to have devised an effective strategy against anti-social elements and during successful operations carried out by various police stations held a number suspects involved in criminal cases.
In the campaign launched against street crime and criminals under the new and effective strategy police arrested seven street criminals and killed two in gun fight.
According to a statement issued by the capital city police, special teams have been formed at the divisional level to arrest the other accused and facilitators of the arrested criminals.
During the last week’s ongoing campaign against blockades, there was an exchange of fire with the criminals in the limits of Bhanamari police station, in which one snatcher was injured.
Similarly, during the blockade of SHO Police Station Phandu Aqib Khan, armed men opened fire on which suspect was caught in an injured condition in the retaliatory fire.
Similarly, during the robbery of a mobile phone, there was an exchange of fire with the robbers, in which three robbers, including an injured one, were detained with weapons and the stolen mobile phone was also recovered from them.
It is also worth mentioning here that the vehicle of SHO Police Station Town Ibrahim Khan had been fired on the night before, in which the police party remained safe while the accused escaped after the retaliatory firing.
SHO Police Station Budhabir along with other police personnel raided the residence of wanted criminals in serious cases, during which a dangerous criminal was arrested after cross-firing.
During the ongoing campaign, police claimed to have killed a suspect involved in murder of the Edward College student Hassan Tariq.
The slain student of the abovementioned college was shot dead by robbers during a mobile snatching bid on Suri Pul a few days back in Peshawar.
Police had arrested one of the two gang members, Shahsawar, and were conducting raids for other member.
