Substandard food items sell in Landi Kotal Bazaar: Halal Food official

KHYBER: Maximum food items sold in Landi Kotal Bazaar are substandard and harmful for the health, official of Halal Food Authority said. Assistant Director district Khyber, Halal Food Authority, Ghulam Abbas flanked by Additional Assistant Commissioner, Rameez Ali, administration and other officials visited various streets and markets of the Bazaar and examined food items. He checked the quality of the edible goods including ghee, spices, milk, chicken, beef mutton, fish, bakery items etc by conducting mobile lab tests and found that scores of food items sold in the local markets were unhealthy and were of poor quality. It was revealed that scores of bakeries were found utilizing unhealthy food color in addition with imperfect ghee and poor standard spices were sold in the market. He warned the shopkeepers for selling substandard food commodities and said in the next inspection visit those found guilty would be dealt with as per law. Our Correspondent
