Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah observed that the political, economic and social crisis has deepened and become serious and that it has been necessitated that all institutions and public segments should work together to overcome the situation.
Shah said gas and power tariffs increase, and rampant price-hike as a result of flawed policies, especially harsh IMF conditions on which agreed by our previous and present rulers and governments.
The ATP chief opined if the resources and opportunities had increased so that such a situation couldn’t have prevailed in the country.
He said government duty is to arrange alternate solutions and arrangements to overcome the current crisis situation.
Faiq was chairing a meeting of the party’s central executive committee held here at the ATP head office on Wednesday.
The party leader stressed that the government should immediately adopt modesty, austerity and doctrines/principles of reduction in expenses and provide facilities to people at their doorstep.
In order to rely on own resources, Shah said agriculture and industries should be promoted to get rid 220million people from heavy prices.
He witnessed consumption of gas and electricity has been made difficult for consumers.
Faiq maintained prices of basic utilities have increased substantially, which will add to misères of the inflation-stricken people this winter.
The ATP chief warned they will hold strict accountability and assessment through which people’ hands will be on the collars of rulers’, if social and economic justice won’t be ensured.
Shah warned the government over burdening the poor with heavy taxes, depriving low-income and salaried-class people by collecting multiple taxes.
He called it a complete injustice and illegitimate, which strict assessment will be carried out.
The party leader said the tax-collecting government’s prime responsibility is to provide basic facilities like health, education and ensure provision of employment opportunities.
He noted people face great hardships owing to rising price-hike, power and gas tariffs.
Faiq asserted it is the duty of the government to sort out an alternate and simple solution to all issues, but negligence is always committed from this responsibility.
This injustice took people far away from the government, he added.
The ATP chief said present and past rulers are not for people but they have gained all authority for personal extravagances and power.
