ANP says general election ‘must be transparent, impartial’

The provincial president of Awami National Party (ANP) Amil Wali Khan has welcomed the announcement of the general elections’ date and expressed hope that polls will be held on February 8, 2024.
“If the constitution and the law prevail, general elections will be held on February 8,” he said and added that general elections must be made transparent and impartial in all circumstances.
ANP leader said that “We believe in democracy and political struggle under the ambit of the constitution.”
Aimal Wali Khan expressed these views while addressing the social media summit of ANP at party’s headquarters Bacha Khan Markaz.
He criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for its alleged funding to increase the capacity of social media teams only to run smear campaigns against political opponents.
Social media workers of ANP have always advocated for the Pakhtun nation and the selfless social media activists are the pride of the party.
“The country will move forward only when all institutions work within their jurisdiction,” Aimal Wali Khan said.
Mr Khan further said that ANP would never compromise on the rights of Pakhtuns nation,s rights, adding that ANP did not require power and position.
While talking about Afghanistan, he said that the people imposed on power in Afghanistan by the force of the gun did not obey anyone before and will not obey anyone now.
ANP Provincial Spokesperson Samar Haroon Bilor and Provincial Social Media Coordinator Saifullah Fazl also spoke on the occasion.
A large number of provincial and central officials, nominated candidates and social media activists from across the province participated in the summit.
