ISLAMABAD
IMF has demanded for clamping tax on retailers, agriculture and real estate.
FBR has said if shortfall comes in tax collection then fixed tax can be imposed on retailers after December.
According to FBR the powers for introducing scheme to impose tax on retailers rest with FBR.
IMF has asked to make consultation with the provinces to impose tax on agriculture besides demanding enforcement to slap tax on retailers.
It has been said in the proposals given to IMF that the sectors where tax collection is less , there is need to make tax policy effective and enforce it therein.
FBR has provided to revenue projection report to IMF till the end of the running financial year.
IMF mission will give response till tomorrow on revenue projection report.
Briefing has been given to IMF on task force established for tax policy and tax administration.
