Caretaker Special Assistant on Transport and Housing Zafarullah Khan Omarzai visited the Mall of Dabgari Depot of Bus Rapid Transit(BRT).
During his visit, the special assistant thoroughly checked the construction work on basement 1 and 2 of the depot while parking lots (double storey), completed and remaining work were discussed in details with all the concerned stakeholders.
Additional Secretary, transport department Noor ul Amin, CEO BRT Tariq Usman Saeed, director planing and project Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Urban Mobility Authority (KPUMA) Aftab Ahmad, senior planning officer Sartaj Khan, deputy director KPUMA Faisal Farhad, deputy director PDA Riffat Khalil, director coordination PDA Fida Khan, Col Rtd.
Khan Bahadur Resident Engr MMP Consultants PDA, coordinator to the special assistant Qaisar Khattak ,the present contractors team comprising of Abid Mufti and Jahanzaib Khan were also present on the occasion.
The consultant gave a brief presentation to special assistant on the construction work of basement 1 and 2. It is said in the briefing that both the basement has the capacity of 440 vehicles for car parking.
There are 5 elevators and 8 escalators in which 5 are properly working. Almost 80 percent work on fire fighting pipe installation and alarm system compeleted while 90 percent work on water supply pipe has also done.
For electric supply both the basement required a transfermer of 440 KV.
Besides, on going works on basement 1and 2 including electrical, mechanical, sewerage system, cable tray and sump pits pumps installation, ventilation duct system and other works also came into discussion.
The caretaker special assistant Zafarullah Khan Umarzai on the occasion issued directives to the consultant and contractors to expedite construction work on both the basement and complete them as soon as possible because with the completion of this project it would bring car parking facilities to public.
He assured that government will release funds for the completion of both basement.
