Muhammad Faiq Shah, founder and chairman of the Amun Taraqqi Party said diseases, pollution and food deficiency have touched a new peak, asking to create awareness for tackling growing climate change issues.
The ATP chief called for enforcement of emergency in education, agriculture and health along with the environment sector.
He asked government and political parties to give importance in their manifesto and program for progress of the afore-mentioned sectors.
While commenting on views of Dr Mick of the U.S State department here on Wednesday, Shah said major share in environmental pollution is atomic power nations so remedy should also be made by these countries.
Hence, not only the environment, but emergency should be imposed in education, agriculture and health along with climate as well, he added.
The party leader said the government of Pakistan should immediately enforce an emergency in afore-stated four sectors and special targets to be given to all institutions, including schools, colleges and universities.
Today, the pollution is rapidly spreading in Pakistan’s major cities, like Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and other towns, which included most polluted cities in the world ranking, calling it as incompetence of the former and present rulers.
He added the next generation will never forgive the rulers.
Shah called youth the prime source of the country’s progress.
The party leader stressed fully capitalizing from youth’s capabilities to put the country on a path of sustainable economic growth and development.
He furthermore suggested efficient tapping of natural resources and reserves to make the country financially self-reliant.
The ATP chief expressed hope that the country can achieve the sustainable development goals by enforcing an emergency in important sectors for the next 15 years.
This task can be given to the private sector or an effective network as well, wherein strictly carrying out research, working, monitoring and the latest network could be set up, he added.
Faiq said youth can only change the destiny of the country so they should be provided equal opportunities to play their role in national progress.
