West Indies defeats England by 4 wickets in first T20 match

West Indies defeated England by 4 wickets in the first T20 International cricket match to take a 0-1 lead in the three-match series.
The West Indies team achieved the target of 172 runs in 18.1 overs for the loss of 6 wickets.
Andre Russell of the host team was declared the man of the match for his all-round performance.
He scored an unbeaten 29 runs from 14 balls with the help of two sixes and two fours and bowled three players in the bowling department.
West Indian captain Romain Paul won the toss and elected to field first in the opening T20I of the three-match series at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.
Batting first, the British team returned to the pavilion after scoring 171 runs in 19.3 overs and set the host West Indies a target of 172 runs to win the match, Philip Salt 40, wicketkeeper-captain Jos Buttler 39 and Liam Livingstone 27 runs.
From West Indies, Andre Russell and Alzari Joseph scored three each, Romario Shepherd two, while Aqeel Hussain and Jason Holder dismissed one player each. By doing so, they defeated England by 4 wickets in the match.
Shai Hope 36, Kyle Meyers 35, captain Romain Paul unbeaten 31 and Andre Russell stood out with an unbeaten 29 runs.
England’s Rehan Ahmed dismissed three and Adil Rashid dismissed two players. Andre Russell of the host team was adjudged the man of the match for his all-round performance.
