Meanwhile, a 4-member bench of Election Commission headed by Member Election Commission Nisar Durrani reached Adiala Jail to hear the case against former Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry and founder chairman PTI Imran Khan.
At the beginning of the hearing, former Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry filed a request for open trial in Adiala Jail in the ECP contempt case.
The petition requested that local and international media be allowed to cover the jail trial. In the petition, the stand has been adopted that the jail hearing should be opened for transparency.
It has been stated in the petition that Fawad Chaudhary is not allowed to meet his family and lawyers.
A trial without local and international media is questionable.
The petition seeks an order for an open trial. Fawad Chaudhry applied for open trial through lawyer Faisal Chaudhry. Former Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry’s wife Hiba Fawad and brother Faisal Chaudhry Advocate were also present in Adiala Jail.
