National Cricket Team Chief Selector Wahab Riaz has announced the 17-member squad for the tour of New Zealand.
While holding a press conference in Lahore, the chief selector of the national team, Wahab Riaz, announced the 17-member squad, in which Shaheen Shah Afridi will serve as the captain.
Other players include Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Muhammad Rizwan, Saeem Ayub, Haseebullah Khan, Muhammad Nawaz, Iftikhar Ahmed, Muhammad Rizwan, Haris Rauf, Zaman Khan, Aamir Jamal, Azam Khan, Abbas Afridi, Sahibzada Farhan, Abrar Ahmed, Osama Mir. and Muhammad Wasim Jr.
The chief selector said that leg-spinner Shadab Khan, who suffered an injury while playing domestic cricket, needs 2 more weeks to rest, he is continuing his rehab, while young wicketkeeper Muhammad Haris is also out for the rest during the tour of New Zealand.
Chief Selector said that Hasnain and Naseem has recovered, Naseem is rehabbing at the cricket academy, we are not putting much load on him till PSL, he will be available in PSL.
Wahab Riaz said that Shan Masood’s name has not been considered for this series at present, if there is a need in the future, Shan Masood will be included. We are trying to include players who are performing in domestic cricket.
He said that the spinner Abrar Ahmed may not be available for the second test as well, the fitness of Abrar Ahmed is being worked on, it is hoped that he will be fit before the second test. The chief selector said that along with the senior players It is very important to have young talent.
