PESHAWAR
Provincial Caretaker minister for industry, commerce, technical education and tribal affairs Dr Syed Aamir Abdullah inaugurated the Ghazi Economic Zone (GEZ) on Friday.
According to a statement, the event was attended by the chief executive officer of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC), senior management team and representatives of the business community and investors.
The provincial minister Dr Aamir Abdullah was briefed about the benefits and characteristics about the newly opened economic zone in Ghazi for the regional investors and its impacts on the business and job opportunities for the local people.
It is pertinent to mention here that on this occasion two new enterprises, Art line Packaging Industries and Balance Fix Minerals were also inaugurated which will provide jobs to more than 250 people.
Javed Khattak, CEO Speaking on the occasion, Company CO Javed Khattak said that Ghazi Economic Zone will prove to be a unique zone of its kind which will be successful in attracting investors very soon.
Ghazi Economic Zone includes marble, pharmaceutical, printing and packaging as well as food and beverage industries.
Spread over 89 acres at the confluence of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, with a lease area of 72 acres, all developed under the expert guidance of KPEZDMC.
Ghazi Economic Zone is located 15 km from Cuch Hazro Interchange on Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway M1 and considered by reducing transportation costs and providing seamless access to both provinces and the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route.
GEZ’s strategic proximity to successful economic zones such as Ghadon and Hattar Economic and Special Economic Zones positions it as a hub for promoting mutual cooperation.
The economic impact generated by the GEZ will directly benefit the surrounding districts of Haripur, Swabi, Nowshera and Attock, promoting regional growth and prosperity.
Ghazi Economic Zone is another notable achievement under the purview of KPEZDMC which will accelerate the economic development of the province and provide employment opportunities to the people here, and the unwavering commitment of the government of KP to uplift the overall business landscape.
