The funeral prayer for martyred Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officer was offered at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines Peshawar.
The CTD police officer, Hujatullah, martyred on Monday in the limits of Judicial Complex Peshawar, when a person disguised himself as a lawyer opened fire to avenge personal enmity.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Akhtar Hayat Khan, the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Abid Majeed, CCPO Peshawar Ashfaq Anwar, DIG-CTD Imran Shahid, SP-CTD Captain (Rtd) Najam Hussain Liaquat, Commissioner Peshawar Mohammad Zubair Khan, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Peshawar Dr Zahidullah and others participated in the funeral prayer.
On this occasion, a special police team saluted the martyred and laid wreaths.
The IGP-KP Akhtar Hayat Khan and senior officers expressed their sympathy and condolences to the relatives of the slain cop and paid homage to him, saying that Hujjatullah foiled the escape attempt of the accused by sacrificing his precious life and added a new chapter in the history of bravery.
Akhtar Hayat Khan also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the targeting of the police vehicle on polio duty in Bajaur.
Police force of the province would never bow down to any act of terrorism and would fight against the terrorism with bravery, he said and added that KP police would never hesitated and will continue to perform duties in accordance with the expectations of the public.
