Project Director Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cities Improvement Project (KPCIP) Syed Zafar Ali Shah paid a surprise visit to the sewerage treatment plant (STP) and inspected the ongoing developmental work. He also chaired a meeting in which Director Technical Mian Muhammad Shakeel, Chief Engineer Cities Implementation Unit (CIU) Mardan Engineer Muhammad Khalil Akbar, PMCSC Resident Engineer Arshid Qayum Babar, General Manager Matracon Imran Haider and Deputy Manager Project Qasim Mumtaz Awan participated.
General Manager WSSCM and Chief Engineer of CIU Mardan Engineer Muhammad Khalil Akbar briefed the Project Director and stated that under KPCIP project a modern sewerage treatment plant will be constructed. He told through the sewerage treatment plant (STP) project the domestic sewerage connections of six urban union councils will be connected for treatment. The construction work on Eighty two kilometers sewerage network is in full swing and will complete in the specified time. The construction work in Rorya is ninety percent completed while survey has been completed in the rest of Union Councils.
Four thousand and three hundred manholes and thirteen thousand sewerage connections will be constructed. The STP is being built on seventeen acres of land and it will treat six million gallons of wastewater on a daily basis through activated sludge processes.
Project Director Syed Zafar Ali Shah shown satisfaction over the ongoing developmental work and urged that the projects should be completed in specified time.
He said that the provincial government is trying to improve the living standards of the citizens.
