US, Chinese diplomats calls on PM-designate

The Chinese and American diplomats have separate meetings with Prime Minister-designate Shehbaz Sharif on Monday. According the sources privy to development, the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the newly formed government in Pakistan and the possible challenges it would face and to inform about the support required to fight it. Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong reiterated to increase the pace of CPEC and to provide diplomatic and economic support to the newly formed government.
The Chinese ambassador assured full support for Pakistan, in regional security and foreign infiltration in Pakistan.
Within 24 hours of the Chinese ambassador’s meeting, American ambassador Donald Bloom also met with Shahbaz Sharif.
In the meeting, it was assured to provide all possible support for the situation arising after the election and the challenges faced by the newly formed government.
The American ambassador also assured to play a role in the negotiations between the government of Pakistan and the financial institutions.
The American ambassador said that Washington wants full cooperation from the newly formed government in Pakistan.
During the meeting with Shahbaz Sharif, the US ambassador appreciated the role of Pakistan in the stability and peace of the region.
He assured that the United States will urge Pakistan’s neighboring countries to play their role as well.
