Muhammad Faiq Shah, founder and chairman of the Amun Taraqqi Party strongly condemned ‘pandemonium’ in the maiden sitting of newly formed National Assembly after three weeks of the elections held on Feb 8 2024.
Shah questioned: ‘These politicians and rulers deserve to rule over the country’? who always made parliament as ‘fish market’ and passed legislation in uproar in their favour and protection of personal interests and business.
Are these people capable of driving the country out of crisis?
These are the questions which people want to be answered?
While responding to various online queries of the general public here on Tuesday, the ATP chief emphasized parliament shouldn’t be made the centre of the fighting ring.
In such a manner, culture that had been promoted in the upper house of the parliament, has only served the interest and rights of the political elite and not representation of 240million people, because the gap between people and democracy is widening and people are not trusting on democratic institutions to provide them any relief, Shah said.
The ATP chief said parliament must be the true voice of the public and legislators, instead of shielding personal interests and indulging into verbal slugfest to make legislation in best favour of people and the country.
Faiq asked to restore the essence of parliament and democratic institutions and avoid making them a personal maid.
It is quite enough: we have already lost precious 74 years now, this is the right time to work together for people and country betterment, the party leader asserted.
The ATP chairman said the nation didn’t require division, politics of hate and differences but wanted progress through a comprehensive reforms agenda.
He warned if the current culture in upper and lower houses of the parliament is retained that would bring further destruction in the country.
Shah made it clear that the destiny of the nation couldn’t be changed until provision of public authority and justice.
He said his party has already outlined a viable reforms agenda and also shared it with government and relevant departments/authorities.
He offered ATP is ready to provide every kind of assistant to the new government and relevant authorities without any lust and incentives.
