Special Events Organised Across KPK to Celebrate International Day of Forest

Pak Army and Frontier Corps North marked World Forest Day with a series of special events across Khyber, Orakzai, Bajaur, Mohmand, Swat, Dir and Chitral districts. Led by Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Hassan Azhar Hayat and Inspector General Frontier Corps North Major General Noor Wali Khan, the plantation campaign commenced with a ceremonial tree planting in Bara, Khyber district.
Local elders, students, community members, representatives of district administration and Security Forces joined in the initiative, underscoring the collective effort to preserve nature’s bounty. The day’s activities included an awareness walk where students prominently displayed banners advocating for environmental stewardship.
In Orakzai, Mohmand, Bajaur, Swat, Dir and Chitral, similar functions were organized, fostering widespread participation from district administrations, locals, and school communities. Hundreds of saplings were planted, symbolizing a shared commitment to combatting environmental degradation. With spring’s arrival, the campaign aims to enhance the region’s natural beauty and combat environmental pollution.
Pak Army and Frontier Corps North are steadfast in their mission to promote tourism and elevate the aesthetic appeal of these districts through sustained conservation efforts. The campaign will run until March 31, 2024, with thousands of saplings set to be planted, embodying a collective vision for a greener, more sustainable future.
