Five persons killed, eight injured due to rains in KP

At least five persons were killed and eight were reported injured due to rains for the last 24 hours, said said DG Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA)
Four houses were reported partially damaged. Four children and woman died while two women, two children and a man reported injured.
Apart from humans, reports about perishing of livestock has also been received.
The Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has expressed grief and directed to provide relief and compensation cheques to the affected families.
He also directed for opening of closed road and provide facilities to people stuck in rains and landslidings.
The Chief Minister also directed PDMA, Rescue 1122, district administrations to be alert and facilitate people.
Directives have been issued to all DCs in this regard.

Roof collapsed in Bajaur, Rescue 1122 Officials
The roof of a room collapsed in village Kharian Tehsil Nawagai, Rescue 1122 officials told the media on Saturday. According to initial reports, 3 people were buried under the debris, Rescue 1122 officials said. On receiving information from the Rescue 1122 Control Room, Rescue 1122 disaster and medical teams reached the spot and started rescue operations. Rescue 1122 pulled out 3 people from under the debris and shifted them to the hospital while providing medical aid, Rescue 1122 officials said. The details of the death and injuries are as follows: 1: Wife Idris age 26 years died 2: Daughter Idris aged 2 years passed away 3: Son Idris aged 4 years injured.
Power supply of 54 feeders suspended
Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) on Saturday notified that power transmission affected due to heavy rain and hailstorm in different parts of the province. The spokesman said that 54 feeders have failed due to rain in Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan and Swat. Instructions has been issued to the Pesco field staff to fix the fault as soon as possible and restore power, said the spokesman. The Pesco control room is trying to ensure power supply during Iftar hours. At the time of Iftar, the affected areas will be supplied with electricity from an alternative route. He said that despite the rain, the field staff is busy to restore electricity. In view of the inclement weather, customers are requested to cooperate, Pesco, he added.
