DR. Irfan Khan Senior Manager of Centre of Excellence on Countering Violent Extremism Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (CECVE) has said that the role of educated women is of key importance in eradicating violent extremism and promoting peace and tolerance in society.
He expressed these views while addressing the “Dukhtaran-e-Pakistan” seminar organized by CECEV at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar. University faculty, academicians, scholars, and social leaders also addressed to the participants of the seminar and suggested measures to solve the important problems faced by women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The seminar brought together experts, scholars, and activists to address the pressing issues facing women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and to explore avenues for their empowerment.
Dr Irfan Senior Manager CVE said “Dukhtaran-e-Pakistan is committed to promoting the rights and well-being of women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “By partnering with institutions like Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, we aim to create spaces for dialogue, advocacy, and action to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment.
Ms. Beenish Irfan a prominent social activist highlighted the role of women, their responsibilities, and self-respect in society. we need to know about the female harassment.
We need to stay firm by living on the limits of being respectful. Our religion has given a lot of rights of women. Confidence and self-dependence are very necessary for girls to excel in their fields and play an important role in the society.
We need to make sure that we raise gentleman how to respect a woman in our society. the seminar delved into various aspects of gender equality, women’s rights, and opportunities for advancement.
Distinguished speaker shared their insights and experiences, shedding light on the challenges and triumphs of women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.Through engaging discussions, participants explored strategies to overcome barriers to women’s empowerment, including access to education, economic independence, and social equality.
The seminar also highlighted the importance of women’s participation in decision-making processes at all levels of society. The seminar concluded with a call to action for stakeholders across society to prioritize women’s rights and work towards creating a more inclusive and equitable future for all.
Sami Ud Din mentions that the reality of stereotyping. This is the era of narratives, where men use them as self-defence. We need to understand the male centric societies and female centric societies in the world to understand how strong females are. Decision making by females is considered as an ignored element. We have evidence from our religion regarding independent and decision maker women. We need to dig into the reality and understand the real logics and facts behind these practices. Balance should be maintained in understanding these facts in the light of humanities, religion, literature.
