Tahaffuz-e- Pak PWD Joint Action Committee in Action, Declaration released.
Pak PWD employees urged Prime Minister to withdraw the decision of Winding Up Pak PWD.
“ In Previous Government last days, Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Shahbaz Sharif awarded shields to the officers and officials of Pak PWD for their high performance and how it got corrupt now and decided to Wind Up Pak PWD.
PWD is high performing department at a very low rate.
This department has worked as an ambassador of federal government, it’s the backbone of Pakistan’s development and prosperity.
It is of way more importance that what are the reasons involved and what are the objectives behind this decision? Pakistan Muslim League’s promise was to give jobs, not to make the employed ones unemployed.
After the announcement to Wind-up the operation of Public Works Department, Pakistan PWD employees are suffering from severe anxiety and psychological pressure.
“With this decision, all the unions of Pak PWD have come on the same page and formed a joint action committee.
The joint action committee has decided to consider all possible measures to save the department and demanded Prime Minister of Pakistan to immediately withdraw the decision to close Pak PWD.
In case the decision is not withdrawn, it has been announced to start a full protest movement from June 5. Joint Action Committee says we are ready to die till the last drop” and has decided to be active on all platforms to save the department at any cost.
The number of employees and officers of Pakistan Public Works Department in Pakistan is around seven and a half thousand while there are departments that work within districts where number of employees is more than 14 thousand.
We request Prime Minister of Pakistan not to Wind-up the department. By closing the department, the hearth of thousands of families will go out, but by restructuring, this department can be made more efficient.
